The Locked Tomb Wiki

"The whole of the Sixth was huddled on the polar ice caps of a planet so close to Dominicus that exposure to the light side would melt the House clean away. The great libraries were set in a fat cake tin of a station, designed for the ongoing ordeal of not letting anything get too hot or too cold, which meant no windows whatsoever." [1]

The Library is the main stronghold of the Sixth House. As the primary hub for knowledge and research in the System, the Library is carefully regulated both in climate and bureaucracy. Though many researchers visit the Sixth with a hope of unearthing new materials, the rarest and oldest artifacts are rarely let out of their protective cases.

The Copper Garden[]

Presumably some sort of community space, the Copper Garden contains the tomb of Doctor Sex.

The Juvie Dormitories[]

Living quarters for student scholars and aspirants, the Juvie Dormitories contain "shucks," or modular beds that are one meter by two meters and eighty centimeters in size. Each shuck has a curtain that muffles sound.

The Screens[]

Sixth House contains a number of old view screens near the Juvie Dormitories. Library guests and dormitory children often find entertainment in enjoying the views watching the maintenance servitor skeletons perform routine tasks on the hull.

The Study of Doctor Sex[]

"Apart from bookshelves, the study had a solid desk—flimsy veneer to look like wood—big and old-fashioned, with an electronic keypad on top instead of a keyhole for the drawers. There were a few grey mounds that were probably a sofa and a couple of chairs, covered to keep off the dust."[1]

The study of Doctor Sex is a small room deep in the basement of the Library that once belonged to a well-known researcher and was sealed upon his death. In The Mysterious Study of Doctor Sex, Palamedes and Camilla take part in the unsealing of the study, and solving the mystery that resides within.
